Video conference with CocalicoOur class participated in our second annual video conference with a class from the Cocalico School District. They recently acquired a service dog, named Digby!
Digby is a 7-month old male Portuguese Water dog who is also learning to assist students in the classroom. Each class took some time to talk about their four-legged classroom helper. While Sophie snoozed, we also asked the other class questions about our daily activities, care, and compared the training of our dogs. Our class had a picnic with the students from Cocalico and their dog Digby. We had a fun day with a human obstacle course, visiting the dog groomer van, being interviewed by reporters and eating lots of great snacks and hot dogs. We want to do it again next year!

What did Sophie like? Getting 60 pieces of popcorn from the students Did you show any tricks? Yes all of them, they liked the High Five the best What was the most important thing? Sophie showed what therapy dogs do- to be touched and loved Did she womp? No I think that Sophie likes to be loved. Sophie liked Union Canal and she wants to go back there again. Mrs Fleet and Sophie need to take a vacation day from work and go back to Union Canal. Or they could take us on a field trip there. Could we all go along next time? |

Sophie's 4th birthday
Sophie turned four years old on October 12, 2013 We gave her a birthday party on the 16th. . It was really great. We all got to give her presents. The presents were wrapped and we had cupcakes and apples. Sophie was ripping the wrapping paper like she was a kid at Christmas. It was really cute. Then we got to eat the cake. It was really good. We gave Sophie one cupcake. She partied until she dropped! Now she is asleep in her office under her mommy's desk.
